I Saw This Coming in November 2024
After more than 30 years advising small business owners, I recognized a pattern that most institutions were not yet willing to name. AI was not a future threat. It was already dismantling the economic foundation that millions of workers, families, and small business owners depended on. The shareholder-driven corporation had no incentive to protect the human worker. The numbers made that clear. Someone had to build the alternative.
Why a Guild and Not a Company
The shareholder corporation optimizes for return, not for people. That is not a criticism, it is a design fact. The Guild is the oldest known structure built to protect the artisan, the tradesperson, and the independent worker. It lasted centuries because it served the human, not the investor.
